The Brechtian approach to drama is explored in three plays coming to Upstairs At Three And Ten Theatre in Steine Street, Brighton from Thursday to Friday November 20-23.
Company spokeswoman Martine Shackerley-Bennett said: “These are three terrific plays in the Brechtian style that give a new meaning to theatre. For a different theatrical evening and a creative, thoughtful, funny and stimulating experience, this is a show that you shouldn’t miss.
“The play Obliging Victim explores issues of control, manipulation and the abuse of power. The first scene opens with an idyllic loving relationship that quickly develops into an abusive cycle of punishment and reward.
The woman taking on a victim’s role loses not only her respect but gradually her identity.”
