Glass removalCAREFUL would-be burglars used cutting equipment and suction cups to remove a panel of glass at a shop in Goring.
But after removing the 8ft by 3ft piece of glass from Londis in Aldsworth Parade, the shop's alarm was activated and frightened the offenders off.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened between 12.30am and 7.40am on Thursday, November 27.
Frozen turkeysPEOPLE are being urged to keep a look-out for some frozen turkeys which were stolen from the Tesco store in Durrington.
A large fridge storage unit was broken into at the store in New Road at around 10.30pm on Monday, December 1 and a large quantity of frozen turkeys were stolen.
Junior joy-riders JOY-RIDERS who crashed a stolen car in Worthing were so young they "could hardly see over the steering wheel".
Police were called to reports that "very small boys" were driving a red Ford Fiesta erratically in Chesswood Road, Worthing, just before 8am on Tuesday, December 2.
When police arrived, the stolen car had crashed into a wall near to the junction with Ladydell Road and the boys had made off.
Worthing police Sergeant Ian Kerr said: "From what we were told these boys could hardly see over the steering wheel.
"We have recovered the vehicle for forensics and are making enquiries."
Firefighters from Worthing were also called because smoke could be seen coming from the crashed car.
Purse theftsFIVE shoppers in Worthing town centre became victims of purse thefts on two separate days last week.
On Wednesday, November 26, two women reported having their purses stolen from their bags while shopping in Store 21 in Chapel Road.
Then on Friday, November 28, two more women had their purses stolen while they were in T.K. Maxx.
Another woman shopping in Store 21 also had her purse stolen on Friday, November 28.
Police have launched a Hold on to Your Handbag campaign to tackle purse thefts.

Sniffer dog A DOG unit helped police trace a man who was then arrested in connection with an alleged car theft.
Police were called to reports of a blue Ford Fiesta, which had been stolen from Lancing and had been driven into Worthing on Monday, December 1.
The car was spotted in the Selden Road area, which police sealed off and searched using a dog unit.
A man was arrested and is helping police with their enquiries.
Damaged cars POLICE are linking a spate of car scratching incidents which have happened in Worthing.
A male youth wearing a "hoodie" was seen walking along Downview Road and into Boundary Road during the night of Thursday, November 27 and appeared to scratch eight vehicles.
Police believe the same youth scratched another three vehicles in Heene Road on Monday, December 1.
Cannabis arrests FOUR Worthing men were arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis after police stopped a car they were in.
Police stopped a car in Columbia Drive, Durrington, on Sunday, November 30, which had four men inside.
Officers could smell drugs and searched the car before arresting the men on suspicion of possessing cannabis.
Laptop stolenA LAPTOP computer was stolen after thieves broke into a motorcycle shop in Eastcourt Road, Worthing, just after 1am on Tuesday, December 2.
