THIS photo shows the damaged car which collided with an elderly pedestrian in Durrington today (Friday, October 10).
Police have now launched an appeal for witnesses to the crash, which happened just after 7am this morning (Friday, October 10) at Durrington Hill, near to its junction with Salvington Road.
A 73-year-old pedestrian was taken to Worthing Hospital by ambulance with what police described as "serious injuries".
The Lexus car driver, a man in his 30s, was shaken but unhurt.
Police closed both lanes of the road for several hours.
Any witnesses should contct Chichester Road Policing Unit on 0845 60 70 999 and quote Operation Ashwick.
