St Andrew's high School prizes – full results

STUDENTS, parents, governors and guests have attended St Andrew's High School for a special celebration of achievement night.
Prizes and certificates were handed out to students by Jeremy Taylor, who is the Diocesan director of education, to celebrate their achievements in the GCSEs this summer.

Steve Jewell, the head teacher, said: "64 per cent of our students achieved five or more higher grade GCSE's so there was lots to celebrate.

"It was great to see so many come back to collect their certificates and prizes and to hear how they are getting on at college and work."

The prize winners were:

Head boy prize: Michael Brainerd.

Deputy head boy prize: Luke Bowden, Thomas Candy, Alexander Courtnage and Asif Husain

DC Walker prizes for art: Wilf Speller.

DC Walker prizes for music: Timothy Calderhead.

St Andrew's Centenary trophy for drama: Luke Palmer.

Prize for business studies: Rikesh Gungah.

Richard Earl cup for ICT: Luke Beaumont.

Prize for English literature: Joel Edmondson.

Prize for English media: Joseph Duncumb.

John Pull cup for history: Charlie Krost.

Geography cup: Will Stevens.

The HSBC mathematics prize: Michael Moriarty and Jeremy Rolph.

Modern foreign languages cup: Tom Wakeling.

Broadwater Sports prize for physical education: Joshua Mountifield.

Odwyn Berry shield for contribution to physical education: Will Stevens.

Charles Sharpe shield for outstanding team performance: Lee Cacioppo, Junior Fay, Oliver Fedrick-Lees, Jordan Hide, Luke Nelson, Jubril Olajire, Sebastian Provette, Rhys Thompson, Matthew Wakeford and Elliot Winfield.

Harry Yates vocational learning prize: Justin Epton.

Governors' prize for religious education: James Farmer.

James Budd memorial prize for science: Ryan Ashworth.

The GlaxoSmithKline prize for biology and chemistry: Samuel Baker, Moaz Hamid and Jonny Pye.

Graphics technology prize: Ali Adel.

Resistant materials prize: James Farmer.

Everett prize for food technology: Liam Dunbar.

Graham Hall shield and Parker Highland Joinery prize for engineering and technology: Oliver McBride and David Parkin.

Cup for contribution to school life: Timothy Calderhead and Liam Dunbar.

McGregors cup for service to the community: James Kilby
