A DANCE student from Worthing has been crowned Miss West Sussex 2008.

Roxanne Hotchkiss, 21, became Miss West Sussex on Friday (May 2) during a glittering night at Fontwell Park Racecourse

She beat off competition from 17 other girls - and will now go on to represent the county in the Miss England finals at The Troxy in London on July 18.

Rozanne said: "I really can't believe this. It has been such a great day and I'm so happy to have been named Miss West Sussex."

A panel of judges made up of best-selling author Jilly Cooper, three-time champion jockey Richard Dunwoody, actress Honeysuckle Weeks and Chichester Observer deputy editor John Carter had the tough task of picking the winner.
