FORGET Cannes - film buffs in the know chose a film premier staged by a group of talented Heathfield students.
Heathfield Community College took over the Hailsham Pavilion to showcase the work of students in the fields of media and film-making.

Films were made by sixth form and year ten students as part of their A-level and GCSE coursework.

Students were togged up in appropriately stylish fashion and chauffeur-driven in a hired limousine to be greeted at the red carpeted entrance by crowds of admiring parents and friends.

The evening was compered by deputy headteacher Dick Kempson.

Bev Maguire, college head of media studies, was extremely proud of the students and their work.

She said: 'They have responded well to the creative and technical challenges inherent in this subject area with energy and enthusiasm and the films shown are a testament to their talent.'
