A TEACHER may owe his life to his boss after he dramatically stopped him from being hit by a falling tree.
Uckfield Community Technology College principal Craig Pamphilon was warned by colleagues that a tree in Lime Tree Avenue, near the front entrance to the college, was looking unstable in high winds on Wednesday.

He saw the tree was moving when he got outside and ran into the road to warn pedestrians and oncoming cars.

His actions averted almost certain disaster.

Within seconds the tree crashed into the roadway that is the entrance to the college and town's leisure centre.
Richard Carter, technology teacher, was driving into work just after 8am.

He was stopped by Mr Pamphilon waving his arms
As he braked the tree crashed in his path, narrowly missing his car.
The narrow escape was captured on the college's CCTV.
