A side order of music at No.48 in Bexhill

With the Bexhill Festival of Music getting into full swing, No. 48 in Devonshire Road joined the festivities with a free weekend of live acts.

These included a lively set by The Other Band, whose mix of Americana, Blues and R&B had their audience dancing.

Their mix of music is matched with a unique sound thanks to Mandolin work from Julian Graff, and fascinating percussion from Rich

Mann, who keeps the beat with anything but a drumkit – his percussion arsenal includes wooden boxes, tin cans, washboards, and he was even

seen playing a door at the back of the stage.

In contrast, relatively new band Acoustica wowed the crowd with a strong set of hits played with a clean and clear acoustic feel led

by singer Yasmin Dewey, backed by Andy Nott and Darren Lands on guitar.

As well as playing at No. 48 both bands are currently developing regular gigs in the area including the Gecko bar in St Leonards, Kerry’s in

Bexhill and The Wheatsheaf in Little Common.
