A weekend of film and music

This is in addition to the great seafood and angling demonstrations available on the Metropole Lawns, and what’s more, it is free.

On Saturday, September 7, Dorey The Wise will perform on the bandstand at 3pm.

After launching their debut EP in March 2013, this Indie Pop band have achieved BBC air play for their new single Give It All Away and have attracted considerable press attention.

On Saturday evening, the pavilion will screen Steven Spielberg’s classic Jaws. More than 30 years old, this thrilling, edge of your seat film has excited and horrified generations of movie-goers. This film is a 12A and not for the faint-hearted.

Jaws will be screened outside on the sea-facing wall at 8.30pm. Bring blankets to sit on and dress up warm.

On Sunday, September 8, 13-year-old singer and guitarist Archie Norris will kick things off with a live performance at 11am.

At 11.45am musical duo the Frampton Sisters will take to the stage, followed by more youthful singing and guitar playing in the shape of 15-year-old Henry Hill.

Mad Jack’s Morris Dancers change the style of performance from approximately 1pm, with their traditional dance. They will be followed by singer and keyboard player Georgia Faye at 2pm.

Eyes That Kill, a new band, based in Hastings, will entertain from the bandstand at 3pm.

They will be followed by the easy listening style of Andy Burton at 4pm, with covers band Ricochet rounding things off at 5pm.
