Bexhill and District Branch Aircrew Association

FIFTY members, partners and friends of the branch met at the Cooden Beach Hotel for our annual Christmas Lunch on Wednesday, December 5.

It was a happy, convivial occasion at a very well presented table and set the scene admirably for the festivities to come.

The year's activities were finally rounded off in the Albatross Club on Monday 10th where, at vice-president Bill Low's instigation, individual members were persuaded to give personal five-minute accounts of amusing events from the past. Still chuckling, we move upstairs where the club's chef had prepared an informal seasonal lunch to mark the occasion. As ever, we were delighted to be joined by wives of departed members at both events. Their support is much appreciated.

Our next meeting will be held in the Albatross Club at 11.15am on Monday, January 14 when branch member Canon David Knight will give an insight to life as an RAF National Service Meteor Pilot in the 1950s.

Meanwhile we wish all friends and readers a Happy Christmas and fruitful New Year with special thanks to the staff of the Bexhill Observer for dealing so patiently with this author's ramblings during 2007.
