THE club met on January 3 for the first meeting of the new year.

We were very short of members as so many have flu or similar illnesses.

However we managed about 65 members.

The January meeting is always an appraisal of members' work and for this Lorna Vahey officiated. Lorna always does a good job and we all learned a lot. The artist of the month was Valerie Milborrow who produced five excellent paintings.

The monthly competition was entitled Holiday Highlights and was won by Pat Grayling. Next month's competition title is Country Pursuits, so get painting.

The February meeting is of course the annual general one which will start at 2pm sharp and be followed by a demonstration of watercolour flowers by Fiona Peart.
