Bexhill Horticultural Society - July 25

THE Society is now well into our 2008/9 season and has enjoyed some memorable outings, talks and coffee mornings with many more goodies to come.

The Open Gardens on July 5 enjoyed lovely weather and raised over 500, plus a 200 donation, for our charity of the year, Sussex Air Ambulance with more fundraising activities to come. We all had a very good time and the garden owners and helpers extended the event into the evening at Glassenbury Drive with a well deserved slurp of red and white as we toasted our gallant members!

Wisley is the venue for the August outing, and Kew is scheduled for September and a few seats are still available on this trip. October 4 heralds the start of the new season of talks and the first coffee morning is on the 9th. December is a packed month with a talk on the 6th; the Christmas coffee morning on the 11th, and our annual Christmas lunch is booked for the 17th. We are staying locally again to ensure that all the members who would like to participate can do so and we will be meeting at Highwoods Golf Club this year. Please put this date on your calendar and book your place as soon as possible. Full details will be given in the next newsletter and at all future events.

2009 is our 80th anniversary and we have some fantastic events planned to celebrate this milestone in the Society's history which we hope will excite you all.
