Brilliant young pianist to play autumn recital

The brilliant young winner of last year’s Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition, Taek Gi Lee from South Korea, returns next Saturday.

He will play the music of Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Chopin and Liszt, and his autumn recital will take place at 3pm in the Recital Room at Fairlight Hall just outside Hastings.

Taek Gi Lee was just 17 when he won the competition in March of last year.

Three days before the recital, on October 28, Taek will be performing the Grieg Piano Concerto at Fairfield Halls in Croydon with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Eduardo Portal.

This concert is part of his prize for winning the competition in Hastings - tickets cost £15, which includes a cream tea, from Hastings Tourist Information Centre in Aquila House or from www.hastingsconcertocompetition.co.uk.
