CAR RALLY: MG motors gleam at Arundel Castle gathering

MG CAR enthusiasts will be giving a final gleam to their motors before making tracks for Arundel Castle on Sunday (April 1).

Hundreds of the classic British marque will be heading for the castle lawns for Chichester MG Owners’ Club’s gathering and picnic, returning to the historic venue for the eighth time.

MGBs, MGB GTs and the small but perfectly-formed Midget will be among the models glinting in all their glory on the second day of the castle’s new visitor season.

Club area secretary Andy Harris said Arundel was always a popular destination for members to travel to from all over the country. “I say to people, if you want to see your car in the best possible location, I guarantee you will not see anywhere more perfect than Arundel Castle,”

The rally normally attracts members and vehicles from around 20 MG Owners’ clubs, bringing their vehicles ranging from the 1930s, 40s and 50s to the modern-day models built in China. On September 2, a Ferrari club is visiting the castle.
