Chichester’s Chindi builds on success

Chichester independent writers Chindi are thanking the staff of Chichester Library for hosting their first secrets of self-publishing event.

An enlightening and less than hushed Q&A session was hosted by children’s author Christopher Joyce who asked a number of burning questions to Jill King, Marion Kille, Julian Kirkman-Page and Daniel Jones: from questions about the various routes they took into publishing their books, to how they promote their work through the various social networking platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and a personal website. They also revealed how they designed the covers of their books and the resources they used such as royalty-free photography.

Julian said: “Over 50 people attended and enjoyed the evening, of whom three have so far decided to join Chindi which promotes mutual sales and marketing support to self-published authors. More information can be found at http://www.chindi-authors.co.uk and video content of the evening is available at http://www.youtube.com/chindiauthors

“The next Chindi event is wine and words at Woodies wine bar on the November 20.”
