Yes, it will be a challenge to follow the recent inspiring performance by Hastings Philharmonic Choir of Monteverdi’s Vespers.

But the choir will rise to it with its traditional festive celebration, featuring special guests, the Peasmarsh CE Primary School Choir.

The annual concert of carols and festive music returns to the beautiful St Mary in the Castle for 2013.

A brass ensemble will accompany the choir in performances of well known carols, many for audience participation, plus some exciting arrangements of familiar tunes.

The choir will also commemorate the Centenary of Benjamin Britten with extracts from his Ceremony of Carols.

An early evening start means this event is suitable for the whole family.

Saturday 21st December, 5 p.m. St. Mary in the Castle.

Tickets £10, (£8 concessions) £2 (16 or under) available from Hastings Information Centre, IMAGEN Gallery, online www.hastingphilchoir.org.uk or phone 01424 552119.
