RYE’S School Creative Centre hosts its fifth Christmas

Bizarre event on Saturday December 7.

It promises a magical and exclusive shopping experience that offers a contemporary twist on the traditional festive fair.

Local students have designed a fairy-tale inspired installation of the house in the woods from Hansel and Gretel.

Beth Martin said: “This year’s Christmas Bizarre is also fund raising for Surviving Christmas, a local Hastings based charity which aims to ensure as many people as possible feel cared for at Christmas.”

Stall holders feature a wealth of high quality local designer makers including woodturner Tom Pockley, silversmith Stuart Jenkins, and contemporary jeweller Emily Thatcher.

Other featured artists include textile designers, painters, handmade paper and cardmakers, photographers and paper sculptors.

A cafe will serve locally sourced soups and cakes and the theatre will be screening new animation from young people.

It runs at the Creative Centre, New Road, from 10am - 6pm and there is ample free parking.
