Cooden Millennium Afternoon Townswomen's Guild

After Guild business was concluded the celebrations for our eighth birthday party began.

The committee had arranged a variety of goodies to eat with cups of nice hot tea. A splendid birthday cake was the highlight of the party made and skilfully decorated by Mrs. Doreen Shields.

Guests Mrs. Kathleen Broomhead and Mrs. Renee Parsons made the first cut of the cake. A moist fruity cake greatly enjoyed by all.

Entertainment for the afternoon was performed by June and Thyra. After some well known ballads we were invited to join in and sing a selection of very old favourites which we did with gusto. Happy Birthday Millennium Guild.

We learned with great sadness of the death of Mrs. Pam Filb, of Pam's People, who gave much pleasure with music and songs at our recent Christmas party.
