Dance events in bar

Bar des Arts, which is located opposite the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Millbrook, Guildford, will be hosting the Kizomba, Bachata, and Zouk dance events every month from Monday, August 6.

Gio Papas, who runs the dance company Latin Salsa, which will be hosting the events, said: “We are delighted to be holding regular dance evenings at Bar des Arts. They will take place on the first Monday of every month. The first event will be held on Monday, August 6 from 7.45pm.

“We will teach a variety of dance classes to people of all ages and abilities. Between 8pm and 9pm we will be holding a Kizomba fun dance class, and from 9pm until 11.30pm people can enjoy freestyle dancing.”

Gio has been teaching all types of Latin dancing, including Salsa, Cha-cha-cha and Bachatango for more than ten years.

During the class he will be teaching Zouk dancing, a sensual two-person dance with its roots originating in the French Caribbean and Bachata, a rhythmic free-style dance.
