ElectricPalace marks new festival

See Christopher Guest’s hilarious masterpiece A Mighty Wind plus sample local beers galore today (Friday).

The Electric Palace is proud to be part of the inaugural Hastings Folk Festival this May – by screening Christopher Guest’s hilarious folk singers reunion mockumentary, A Mighty Wind from 8pm.

But that’s not all - The venue is also holding a mini Beer Festival alongside it.

The cinema know how much folkies like real ales and ciders, so it is inviting Hastings to come and sample the real ales on offer from a range of local breweries, before enjoying the film.

Breweries represented include local breweries Long Man Brewery, The Old Dairy Brewery, Hastings Brewery, and Shepherd Neame.

A Mighty Wind is a 2003 American mockumentary comedy-drama film about a folk music reunion concert in which three folk bands must reunite for a television performance for the first time in decades.

When influential folk music producer Irving Steinbloom dies, his children organise a memorial concert featuring his three most famous acts: The Folksmen, The New Main Street Singers, and Mitch & Mickey. The Folksmen trio consists of Mark Shubb (Harry Shearer), Alan Barrows (Christopher Guest), and Jerry Palter (Michael McKean).
