Festival celebrates decade with the best blues around

2015 is the tenth anniversary of Crawley Blues Festival, a milestone the event celebrates with the promise of the best blues around from favourites who have appeared at the Hawth over the years and a few surprises along the way (Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24).

The music will be compered by Tony Molloy, of Crawley Blues Club.

Spokeswoman Lorraine McGregor said: “Friday evening features impressive guitar work from Steve Morrison who teams up with former Yardbird Alan Glen to get the night off to a great start. Ben Tysack will be playing raw, intoxicating sounds and Grammy award-winner Mike Dowling will bring the evening to a close with a little help from his friends.

“Saturday sees the return of guitarist, singer, songwriter Danny Kyle, Jim Crawford with his rich baritone voice and his slide guitar, banjo and ukulele and Mike Dowling, with even more of his talented friends will be bringing the house down as a grand finale.

“Mike Dowling will also be running a guitar workshop on Saturday from 11am to 2pm, a chance not to be missed. It’ll be a chance to polish up your playing and try some new songs, licks and tricks. All levels welcome.”
