Their concert will be on Wednesday, June 29, at 8pm as the ten-piece group of Brighton musicians once again reconvenes to play the music of the former Beatle live.
Their performance in Chichester will encompass both time-honoured Beatles’ classics and well-chosen songs from George’s prolific solo career. Doors open 7.30pm.
Singer Alex Eberhard said: “We are really looking forward to it. We are not doing as many gigs this season, but Chichester is one of them. Last year we did ten. This year it is a bit fewer, but we are still moving forward.
“We have been working with a film-maker who did a video with us. There is a place called Zu Studio in Lewes, and it is a fantastic place where they have collected lots of fantastic objects.
“You could spend hours there just looking at them all. But we did a video there. We did just one song. We did Let It Down. I think the song just lends itself.
“We started off just me on the guitar on my own and then I am joined by the others, and by the second verse, the whole band is suddenly on stage.”
Alex is hoping the video will prove the perfect marketing tool.
“Things would be much easier if we had a promoter for the concerts to take that off our hands, but that’s the main reason why we have got the video so we have got something to show people.
“We are still a ten-piece, and I would never consider having anything less than that. Whenever George did live shows, and he didn’t do many in his solo career, he always had quite a big line-up on stage.
“I think we did our first rehearsals for the band five years ago and then a year later, we started to do some smaller shows. This is our third proper year now. But ideally we need a promoter who can take us all over the country, but that’s not something we can do.
“That’s where the video comes in, and we have got to do the research to see what business people would be appropriate. We are all musicians for a living, but we are not really experienced in the business side.
“Everything we do is a big learning curve. You do shows and you are always thinking you might do things slightly differently. Even with the video. You are just learning all the time.
“But we have now got a new programme. There are about eight songs that we didn’t do last year. There is, for example, I Me Mine from the Let It Be album which we have arranged with a nice vocal intro that differs from the original. And we will also do Savoy Truffle from the White album. It’s good fun. It has got a good upbeat rhythm.
“And there is also one obscure song that only the real George Harrison fans will know from the (posthumous) Brainwashed album, P2 Vatican Blues, which has got some really quirky lyrics. And Stella, one of the singers, will sing I Need You from the Help album.
“We will also do All Those Years ago, which he wrote after John Lennon was murdered. We are bringing that one back… so about seven or eight new songs for this year.”
