Festival’s final week

Selsey Festival enters its final week with a host of highlights yet to come.

Friday, August 26, The West Sussex Guitar Club presents an evening dedicated to the art of the classical guitar - a concert given by its junior and senior members. 7.30-9.30pm, Selsey Centre. Admission: £6.50 (children free) includes refreshments from box office, online or on the door.

Saturday, August 27, village fete including stalls supporting local organisations and charities. Jazz Smugglers playing from 11am. Recreation ground, School Lane.

Saturday August 27, Art Unhung presents What’s In The Artists’ Boxes?

See work by artists Susan Harper, Pamela Howard, Beatrice Lander and Elisabeth Murray. Free refreshments. 10am-4pm, Town Hall, Small Committee Room.

Saturday August 27, Something Old, Something New…. An evening of rock, pop and funk with local band Grin. Grin graced the stage of last year’s festival with Daniel Humphreys and the Elton John - A Celebration of Music show. Dan has now joined the band and this year they present an evening of entertainment with music spanning from the 70s to today! Profits from this show will go to Help For Heroes. 7.30pm, Selsey Centre. Admission: £6.50 – available online or via the box office.

Sunday, August 28, garden party in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, by permission of Sir Patrick Moore. Lots of stalls including bric-a-brac and toys. Also vintage cars, live music, tombola, raffles, cakes, bakes, teas and refreshments, 1pm-4.30pm, Farthings, 39 West Street. Admission £.2.50 Children under 12 free.

Sunday August 28, Selsey Tattoo Studio Art Exhibition. An alternative collection of Art from the East and beyond with a tattoo influence. Sunday 2pm-6pm; Monday 1pm-5pm, Town Hall. Admission free.

Sunday, August 28, Carnival Procession leaves Venue: Recreation ground, School Lane at 3pm.
