Creative agency wins gold at charity film awards

Brighton based creative agency Morever and Blind Veterans UK has won gold at the Charity Film Awards.

The judges were unanimous in praise for the film 'Ken's Story', describing it as 'poignant and impressive'.

The film won in the 20-50 million turnover category.

Major Levison Wood, spoke about the film during the ceremony: "The film was one of my absolute favourites, very beautifully shot, very cinematic, but also poignant and powerful too."

With a further win, Morever have put Brighton’s filmmaking talent firmly on the map. Morever and Diabetes UK won the Bronze People's Choice Award in their category for their film ‘You’re Not Alone’ - which shows the emotional impact of diabetes.

Abi Mellor, co-founder and managing director, said: "We are thrilled with the awards. Thrilled for the team at Morever and thrilled for the Charities - never has there been a more important time to shine a light on the vital work they do."

The Charity Film Awards, held on April 22, was a virtual event last night. It champions effective story-telling and digital engagement among not-for-profits in the UK.
