Spokeswoman Aimee Pugh said: “The venture, which was launched over the October half-term, saw hundreds of people return to the venue to enjoy a series of especially curated films on the big screen at the refurbished Congress Theatre.

“In particular the Halloween screenings of Hotel Transylvania, Hocus Pocus and Hellraiser saw a vast array of colourful costumes and fancy dress.

“A highlight was a pair of Ghostbusters who arrived in full-regalia. One especially enthusiastic audience member, who came to the evening screening of Hellraiser, arrived wearing a full pros-thetic Pinhead mask – of course with a face-covering over the top!”

November screenings were due to include A Star is Born (November 6), Black Panther (November 7), The Shape of Water (November 13), Jo Jo Rabbit (November 14), Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (November 20) and Joker (November 21).

“It is the theatre’s intention that these films will be re-scheduled to a later date and announce-ments will be made on this as soon as possible. Check eastbournetheatres.co.uk for latest news.

“Ticket holders will be contacted by the Visitor Services Team in due course to arrange a full re-fund; alternatively please email [email protected].”
