Film review: Jurassic World (8 out of 10)

Well you keep on adding a sequel and making it bigger and, hopefully, better.
This is the fourth in the series and it certainly doesn’t hold back on the monstrous dinosaurs and, when it gets going, the full-on action.

While the adults try to sort themselves out they send their kids to Jurassic World where their aunt Claire oversees the operation.
However, the extraordinary theme park is struggling. It’s 22 years after the disaster of the original Jurassic Park and there is pressure to create bigger and more crowd-pulling dinosaurs.
But the scientists have pieced together one new attraction from various DNA sources that lurks in a nearby enormous holding pen.
And it’s not happy.

True, Jurassic World follows a very familiar structure but does try to add new elements and it does keep a vital element of humour.
Jurassic World itself is an amazing place and the panoramic sweeps across the buildings are amazing.
The first act sets the scene but tends to drag a bit and I dare say most people, like me, were just waiting for the action to start.

Hide AdThe first Jurassic Park film certainly had the wow factor as we’d not seen dinosaurs brought to the big screen so superbly.
Now we may be a bit blase about them.
However, there’s plenty of thrills and spills to keep you on the edge of your seat for a couple of hours.
And it’s definitely set up for another movie which does look like it might move away from the tried and trusted formula.
