First Littlehampton Wordfeast

POETRY jams and workshops are among the events lined up for Littlehampton’s first literary festival.

Wordfeast will be held on September 15 and 22, and includes storytelling, and opportunities to meet published local writers.

A spokesman for the organisers said: “Culminating in a poetry and prose competition which will be judged by acclaimed Sussex-based author, Jane Rusbridge, Wordfeast aims to draw out aspiring, locally-grown talent as well as highlight renowned local writers and their work.

“The two-day event is part of the I Love Littlehampton Music and Arts Festival, a new, month-long series of events backed by Littlehampton Town Council, which aims to showcase the impressive range of creative talent in the Littlehampton area.”

Events for both children and adults are planned.

These include a story time, conducted by Stella the Storyteller, based on the Knucker Dragon Story, from 10.15am to 11am on September 15, and the chance to listen to a traditional Chinese story at 12.30pm the same day.
