Follow yellow brickroad in surreal style

THIS festive season, theatre goers are being given a unique chance to follow the yellow brick road in a way in which they have never seen before.

The Wizard of Oz - On Stage and Screen is coming to the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, from Saturday, December 22, to Monday, December 24.

When a tornado hits the house of Kansas girl Dorothy, she finds herself transported to a magical world in which she meets the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion.

She does battle with the Wicked Witch of the West on her quest to reach the end of the yellow brick road to find the mythical Wizard of Oz so he can grant her wish and send her home again.

The 1939 film which starred Judy Garland was one of the first to be shot in Technicolour.

The Wizard of Oz - On Stage and Screen is an extraordinary merging of circus, film, music, variety and comedy.

This brand new show will see audiences, actors, musicians and clowns join together for a spectacular and hilarious night of surreal wonderment.

The show organisers, Popcorn Theatre, are asking audiences to expect musical circus tangoes, feathers, film shows, noisy cabaret, silent comedy and plentiful supplies of life-affirming popcorn.

The Wizard Of Oz steps out of the screen and explodes onto the stage, bringing to life one of the greatest family films of all time.

Everybody is invited to join in the fun this Christmas at the De La Warr Pavilion.

Chris Lynam, described by The Times as ‘a wild clown in a class of his own’ leads a show-stopping cast of performers and musicians which should not fail to enthral and delight this festive season.
