General Election

RIGHT now, we have a lot to ponderBefore Election comes along.Each vote is precious '“ not to squanderAnd we don't want to get it wrong.We can talk to friends, a neighbour;Listen to pundits on telly;Have our say at the Deli.Attend local rallies,Check what's said tallies.Read up on Lib Dems, Tories and Labour.

It's important we don't feel bereft

And forgive their lapse on expenses.

The greediest have already left;

The rest busy mending their fences!

We now have to look to the future,

With 800 Billion Pounds debt

And obligations not met;

So the mess that we're in

Will affect kith and kin.

We must stitch Nation's loss with a suture.

The top bankers helped put us in hock,

With their greed and high risk gambles.

They weren't stopped and forced to take stock;

Took bonus millions, then left a shambles.

To free global trade, must be meant,

With strict regulated markets.

No more rides on magic carpets.

In boom times, aware of the risk,

For retribution is always brisk.

Who'll be shadow and who Government'¦'¦..?

Don Filliston.
