Get ready for fireworks when folk star lights up this stage

She has revitalised and made folk music relevant to new audiences and has captured the most hardened of dissenters with charismatic and boundary-crossing performances.

Many of the current crop of young musicians owe their successes in part to her determination and campaigning spirit.

Twice nominated for the Mercury Prize and winner of innumerable accolades, including eight BBC Folk Awards, her 25 year career has seen her performing and recording with a diverse array of artists including Paul Weller, Rufus and Martha Wainwright, Nick Cave and Joan Baez.

Now she will be playing in Hastings on Friday November 4 at 7.30pm. She comes to St Mary in the Castle to showcase her new 12-piece powerhouse super-group, The Wayward Band, which is bursting with some of the finest players in recent times, including members of Bellowhead, Blowzabella, and the Peatbog Fairies.

Eliza’s cousin Marry Waterson together with David A. Jaycock will open the show.
