Hastings and Bexhill Organ and Keyboard Society

FOR the first meeting of 2009, members and guests were entertained by the very popular and talented Janet Dowsett playing her Yamaha EL900.

Her varied programme included tunes from Mamma Mia and the signature tunes from many of the old TV detective programmes.

For the next concert, on February 26, we welcome the return of Alex Payler, playing his unique black and white EL900M.

Alex discovered his gift of music at seven years of age when he had the opportunity to play his schoolteacher's piano at the back of the classroom. To her amazement he began to work out various melodies without any assistance.

Music soon became Alex's biggest motivation in life. His dedication was rewarded when in1997 he won the title of National Electronic Organist Of The Year taking his music from a serious hobby to a full-time professional career.

He has since played at venues throughout the United Kingdom including Minster Abbey and The Royal Festival Hall.

If you have an interest in playing or just listening to good music, why not join us. We meet at Pebsham Community Primary School, School Place, Hastings Road, Bexhill, at 7.30pm.

New members and visitors are always welcome.
