Hastings, Bexhill Organ & Keyboard Society

FOR our December concert we were entertained by Chris Powell playing his Roland Antelier AT80SL.

His delightful playing together with a glass of wine, mince pies and Christmas cake was much appreciated by a large audience of members and visitors.

We start the new year on Thursday, January 31 with a return visit of the popular Chris Stanbury from Surrey. Chris started playing the electronic organ at the age of six at the Croydon Yamaha Music School.

At the age of 10 Chris was encouraged to play the theatre organ, and after only a few hours tuition under the expert guidance of Len Rawle he entered the ATOS Young Organist of the Year competition and was awarded the Christie Cup. As well as giving concerts, Chris has now completed his Bachelor of Music degree at the London College of Music obtaining Honours. In addition to studying at the college, Chris also teaches keyboards and piano there part-time.

If you have an interest in playing or just listening to good music, why not join us. We meet on the last Thursday of each month at the Pebsham C P School, School Place, Hastings Road, Bexhill, at 7.45pm. New members and visitors are always welcome. For further information please ring 01424 214152.
