Hi-tech help for festivities

Chichester Festivities has joined a fundraising scheme which exploits the latest technology.

Give as you Live is an online shopping app that turns every pound you spend online into a donation for Chichester Festivities. Thousands of stores have signed up to donate money every time a Festivities supporter buys something online through the Give as you Live app.

Amanda Sharp, director of Chichester Festivities, said: “Our supporters don’t have to pay a penny more and you can raise much-needed money for us every day – at no cost to you. Discovering Give as you Live means that you can support the Festivities regularly without changing your routine, or spending any extra money.”

This year the Festivities which run from June 24-July 10 celebrates its 37th anniversary and to ensure the event has a long and vibrant future, the Board is embracing a number of new technologies and fundraising initiatives.

Ian Farman, Chichester Festivities chairman, said: “Under the current economic climate, with statutory funding for the arts reducing, it is vital that we explore every avenue available to diversify our income streams and thus enable the Festivities to maintain its reputation for first-class entertainment.

“Give As You Live is a perfect vehicle to engage with our supporters and the online shopping community, our only ask being for people to download a simple online App. For more information visit http://chifest.org.uk/giveasyoulive.aspx.”
