Hits from the Blitz

First produced in 2004 for the D-Day 60th anniversary, the show offers a cheerful wartime revue featuring tributes to some of the greatest entertainers of the 40s including Max Miller, George Formby, Vera Lynn, Gracie Fields, Bing Crosby, Tessie O’Shea and Arthur Askey.

Banjo and ukulele player Andy Eastwood said: “For those who remember the 40s, We’ll Meet Again brings back memories of the stars who kept Britain smiling through her darkest days. For those who don’t, the show is an authentic introduction to the swinging music and good clean comedy of the period.”

Andy is joined by Steve Barclay, Lucia Matisse, Tony Leyton and The Martyn St James Band to perform songs and sketches by the famous performers of the era, hosted by Mervyn Francis.

“The songs in the revue will range from Who Do You Think You Are Kidding Mr Hitler?, We’re Gonna Hang Out the Washing On The Siegfried Line and We’ll Eat Again (When Can I Have A Banana Again?) to We’ll Meet Again and There’ll Always be an England.”
