Immersive and entrancing sunrise experience awaits

Presenting three major classical concerts featuring world-class performers in stimulating, themed programmes and a complimentary and diverse range of informal fringe and support events taking place in Battle’s restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, tea-rooms and outdoor spaces with events including jazz, rock, blues, film and poetry readings, the momentum is building day by day.

Pure Fine Art will be supporting the delivery of two bespoke free entry festival fringe events tomorrow (Saturday October 18).

Film and performance event Bridging the Void will take place at St Mary’s Church, Upper Lake, Battle, from 7.15pm.

Bridging the Void is an innovative participatory production delivered by the dance company experiential.

Film, dance and music interlace to create an immersive and entrancing sunrise experience inspired by the Native American saying ‘Every Night is followed by Sunrise’.

From darkness through to light the performance unfolds around the audience, who are invited to wander, interact with and react to the production as it develops, contributing their own responses and making each presentation unique.

Choreographer and film artist Rachel Johnson heads up the event, with performers Eleanor Palmer, Jessica Haener and Sally Smithson.

The performance will last approximately 30 minutes.

Meanwhile Pure Fine Art is also involved in the Fringe’s visual arts programme with exhibition a bene placito [:at pleasure] currently running at Battler Interiors, 31 High Street, until October 31.

A private view will take place tomorrow (Saturday) from 4pm.

Showcasing selected International and regional artists producing beautiful works across a range of media including drawing, ceramics, glass and photography, a visit to this exhibition will not disappoint.

Exhibiting artists include Celia Allen, Janine Kilroe, Helen Acklam, Louisa Crispin, Peter Layton, Amanda Averillo, Claire Palastanga, Jane Richardson, Kate Schuricht, Clive Riggs, Clare Winchester, Jane Ford, Hildegard Pax, Shelley Rose and Gabriella Torres.
