Jazz Fest set to get Ryeswinging this weekend

COOL summer jazz come to Rye with a host of big names and free entertainment over the bank holiday weekend.

Rye International Jazz Festival is underway and offers a varied programme which also embraces blues, world music and soul.

Herbie Flowers and Earl Okin have sold out and tickets for main headline act Kyle Eastwood are selling fast. A few tickets will still be available for some of the headlining acts on the door and you can still book tickets on the day at www.ryejazz.com.

Ian Bowden the festival director commented: “We are so looking forward to the festival weekend and finally, after months of planning it has arrived.

“There will be so much great music on offer over the weekend and something for everyone to enjoy.

“I am particularly grateful for all of the wonderful support our media partners The Observer series and that many local companies have given towards the festival this year.”

Live events over the weekend include, alfresco jazz with a champagne and Canapés at the Rye Lodge Hotel, Jazzology on Monday afternoon at the Queens Head and from Saturday to Monday, The Butter Market and The George in Rye play host to live music performances.

Smooth street jazz takes place at the Old Borough Arms and great blues with the Louis Turpin Blues Trio at the Ship in Rye on Monday afternoon.
