Johnny and June ‘together’again for evening of hits

THE music of Johnny Cash and June Carter will be performed as part of the Johnny Cash Roadshow at Worthing’s Pavilion Theatre on Saturday, January 22.

Clive John plays Johnny Cash, joined by The Spirit Band who incorporate material from throughout Cash’s career into the show including Walk The Line and Folsom Prison Blues, through to Johnny Cash’s version of The Nine Inch Nails’ Hurt, which was his last release before his death. Audiences can look forward to all the other great favourites such as Man In Black, Boy Named Sue, Ring Of Fire and many more.

Special guest Jill Shoonjans joins Clive on stage as June Carter to perform some of the couple’s duets such as Time’s A Wastin’. Jill has appeared with both Joe Longthorne and Lee Memphis King in his Elvis show.

Jill said: “Of all my singing roles to date. this is the one closest to my heart. I am proud to assume the role of June - with whom I share the same birthday - and to work alongside such fine musicians. We have a lot of fun, both on and off stage, but we also all love the music and strive to recreate it accurately and respectfully.”

The Johnny Cash Roadshow will also support the Acorns Children’s Hospice at their Worthing performance through the sale of their single Make The Most Of Everyday, the proceeds of which all go to the charity.
