Keen competition in Littlehampton camera club’s contests

Ken Wood, from Steyning, was making his judging debut as a visitor to a club, to run his eye over the 45 enprint and 38 merit print entries in the third and final rounds of the two competitions.

He kept back seven pictures in each competition and named Peter Russell as the enprints winner on the night, for his dramatic, misty shot “Nile Sunset”. Carole Stanton’s “Leaving Dialga at Dusk” was placed second and Peter also claimed third spot.

The overall winner after three rounds was Mick Merridue, with 158 points. Second was Peter Russell with 156 and third Charles Milne, with 152.

Bob Greig’s “Pink Poppy” was the round winner in the merit prints, a superb close-up with every detail sharp and the colours spot-on. Raymond Teucher’s “Fast Fun” was second and club chairman Lindsey Green third.

Rod Armstrong was the overall winner with 112 points, followed by Wendy Eve on 109 and Bog Greig on 108.

At an earlier meeting, the winners of the club’s competitions for three landscape scenes as prints, slides or digital images went, respectively, to Arvin Magan and Raymond Teuchert, who tied in the prints, Rod Armstrong and Christopher Kislingbury.

Members have been delighted to learn that chairman Lindsey has been awarded her licentiateship of the Royal Photographic Society.
