Craig invites young wildlife-lovers to join him at the Curious Creatures Wildlife Park which will be created on stage at Shoreham’s Ropetackle Arts Centre on Saturday, June 7 and Worthing’s Connaught Studio on June 8.

Curious Creatures is set in a park established by Jeremiah Johnson, a world-renowned explorer, zoologist and animal collector with an unrivalled knowledge of animals.

Unfortunately, Jeremiah Johnson is currently lost somewhere in the jungles of Africa and has handed the running of the park over to his inexperienced nephew Craig, and as a result things are not going quite as planned.

Children over five-years-old can expect to meet curious creatures of all shapes and sizes from performing fleas, skateboarding snails and gymnastic gerbils to an irritable alligator, over-excited elephants and a very intelligent orang-utan named Wallace.

Craig will explain how animals evolved, how their adaptations help them survive in the wild and how animals can help us learn more about ourselves.

He uses puppets, comedy, slapstick and live music as well as a host of natural history facts to reveal many of the mysteries of the animal kingdom.

As an actor, puppeteer and musician, Craig has been a member of Cornwall’s Kneehigh Theatre for the past 13 years and has appeared at Glastonbury Festival, Manchester Street Arts Festival, Leeds Streets Ahead, Cowes Week Isle of Wight and festivals in Holland, Belgium and the USA.

For Kneehigh he has performed in national and international tours including Tristan and Yseult, Cymbeline, Don John, A Matter Of Life And Death and The Bacchae, as well as small-scale village hall shows, including directing and acting in Journey To The Centre Of The Earth.
