Legends take to the road for 40th birthday

POP LEGENDS The New Seekers take in Worthing and Bognor Regis on a tour to celebrate their remarkable 40 years in the business.

The stats are astonishing. Their biggest song I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing reached number one around the world, selling a staggering seven million copies.

In all, their record sales have topped 35 million, with hits including Beg, Steal Or Borrow (the group's Eurovision entry from 1972), Circles, You Won't Find Another Fool Like Me and Never Ending Song Of Love.

Since their relaunch in 2006, they've stepped up a gear once again, touring regularly to theatres under the new and enthusiastic management of long-time New Seekers fan Nic Scott-Culverwell.

All of which puts them in good heart for their big anniversary year.

Original group member Paul Layton was joined in 1980 by Mick Flinn and his wife Donna Jones with Francine Rees and Mark Hankins completing the line-up.
