Littlehampton leisure partnership is forged

TWO of the area’s leisure organisations have joined forces to launch a new partnership aimed at encouraging youngsters to keep fit.

Inspire Leisure and Harbour Park are teaming up to offer budget days out at the seafront amusement park in Littlehampton, which both believe could be a real incentive to children to exercise more frequently.

The deal between the two organisations means that Inspire’s members can take advantage of a 25 per cent off Harbour Park’s new annual pass, reducing the standard price of £60.60p to £45.45.

Passes give the holder unlimited rides wristbands, worth £200, at Harbour Park, as well as providing them with a range of other benefits and discounts.

The scheme was launched on Monday (March 26) by Sandy Castle, Harbour Park’s mascot, and Oscar the octopus, his counterpart at Inspire Leisure, at Littlehampton Swimming and Sports Centre.

A spokeswoman said: “Both Harbour Park and Inspire Leisure think that this promotion could be used as an incentive for parents to encourage their children to exercise more frequently, whether it is in swimming classes or after school activities, and in return children and families can enjoy fun days out at a discounted rate.”

The annual pass offer comprises 10 ride wristbands, which can be collected throughout the season, allowing any adult or child unlimited rides at the fun park on any given day, on everything from the 7.5m water chute to a turn on the flying animals.

Families can also test their skill on the shark-themed crazy golf or dodgems, and are entitled to half-price indoor soft play, which includes a toddler area, and discounts on further ride books and wristbands, as well as discounts off food and drink at Harbour Park.

Ash Smart, a director of Harbour Park, said: “In Olympic year, Harbour Park wants to promote to parents and families the importance of a healthy lifestyle, which can be encouraged by rewarding children who reach achievable goals.”

Inspire chief executive John Stride said: “Inspire Leisure is really pleased to be working with Harbour Park. Our members will have another reduced rate option when planning a local treat for their children and grandchildren.”
