DANCE Crazy is the show from Chichester Dance Centre at Chichester Festival Theatre on Saturday (tickets from the CFT).

Dance Centre business manager Graham Horsley said: “Local choreographer and dance teacher Sharon Horsley has developed new choreography for a range of favourite pieces of music both popularm and classical and this will be shown for the first time at the Festival Theatre.

“Around 120 dancers including many from Horndean Ballet School, which is a sister school of the Chichester Dance Centre, will be demonstrating the skills they have acquired over recent months. Performers include tiny tots, teenagers and young adults.

“Of special note the show will feature a ballet that has been some time in creation and for which the choreography has been inspired by the paintings of Edgar Degas.

“Degas was a French artist who lived from 1834 to 1917. He painted many subjects but is most famous for his paintings of ballet dancers.

“The show promises to be a lively mix of dance routines in jazz, tap as well as ballet with performances by some of the most talented local dancers.

“A fabulous array of costumes has been designed to complement each dance theme.
