Best-seller Charlie Plunkett, novelists Keith Mapp and Eileen Sutherland and Popagami entrepreneur Philip Craik will be signing copies of their books and AJT-Editing will provide free editorial and proof-reading advice.

Popular journalist/naval historian-turned-author Matthew Willis is dropping in on Saturday, September 28, from 3.30pm to 4.30pm, to sign copies of his ‘Daedalus and the Deep’ (published by Fireship Press).

It’s a novel based on a real life historical sighting of a giant sea-serpent in 1848.

Matthew said: “The story of HMS Daedalus and the sea serpent intrigued me greatly.

“As soon as I heard about it I knew I wanted to write a novel based on the sighting.

“A clash between a sailing ship and a mysterious creature unknown to science was a fascinating thing to explore, as well as a great basis for an adventure story.

“Growing up near Harwich I couldn’t fail to be fascinated by the sea, so it’s fitting that my first novel has a nautical theme – Harwich itself plays a
cameo role.”

Debut author Laura Victoria has two appearances; Friday, September 27, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm, and Saturday, September 28, from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.

Taking time out from her day job as Virgin Atlantic Cabin Crew, Laura is launching a book of poems in memory of her Hungarian-born
Mother, who passed away recently.

A talented creative, Laura is busy working on her first novel and also displays some of her beautiful, unique artwork in the Bookshop’s Gallery.

Warlocks and goblins take centre stage for local writer Mathew Bridle’s long-awaited launch of Young Warlock.

Young Warlock is the tale of a boy mage who is seduced by his lust for fire and struggles with what he has become.

Hunted by his closest friends he finds allies in unlikely places and then goes about clearing his name with those who matter. The cover image was created by Mathew’s niece – a talented artist.

When he isn’t visiting dark realms, Mathew admits to enjoying X-Box with his kids, a bit of photography, and he also heads up the Horsham Writers Circle.

Catch Mathew from 12.30pm to 1.30pm on Saturday, September 28.

All the featured authors are delighted to have the chance to chat to readers and fellow writers.
