The Moors present a musical journey starting with roots ranging from mediaeval Spain to ancient Anatolia. Their unmistakable electric sound, however, is totally up to date, exuberantly blending klezmer, Balkan beats, Cuban rhythms and English folk-rock.

Originating in Hastings Old Town, their five-piece line-up is: soprano sax/flute/piccolo/melodica; fiddle; electric guitar; bass guitar/vocals; drums/percussion.

Touted as the finest banjo player in the UK, Dan Walsh is described as ‘the real deal’ (Uncut) and ‘taking the banjo into the stratosphere’ (Froots) with a unique and eclectic style taking in folk, funk, bluegrass, jazz, rock and even Arabic.

Also a fine singer, songwriter and guitarist, he has performed throughout the UK at all the major folk festivals as well as theatres and folk clubs including the Southbank Centre, the Sage Gateshead and a series of groundbreaking world music concerts at the Barbican. He has recently recorded on the Levellers new album and is touring extensively around the UK.
