Mums bring passion for health and wellness to community

Two Sussex mums have launched their new businesses in Steyning, bringing their passion for health and wellness to the local community. Tanya Botting, Aromatherapist and owner of Lemongrass Bespoke Massage, and skincare specialist Maria Winslow aim to become an integral part of the local community.

Although not known to each other before, Tanya and Maria have found much in common, including, having two young daughters each and the challenges parenting can bring! Following a twenty year career in travel PR and Marketing, Tanya is now focusing on her other passion as a holistic therapist. Having qualified some years ago in Aromatherapy and Swedish Body Massage, as well as a fitness instructor, Tanya has increased her skills with training in Deep Tissue Massage, Natural Lift Facial Massage, Pregnancy Massage and Hot Stone Massage.

Meanwhile, after owning Grip Hair and Body, a successful hairdressing salon in Wimbledon, Maria was looking for a new challenge which would be both rewarding and offer some flexibility to fit around family life. Having now joined the team at Steyning’s complimentary therapy clinic and apothecary, Body Matters, Maria and Tanya are delighted with the welcome they have received from the Steyning community. Both mums share the same ethos in terms of wishing to provide the best possible experience and service to their clients in Steyning and the surrounding area.

Maria’s first love is skincare and helps her clients learn about their skin and how they can improve and maintain their most important asset. Using renowned Dermologica products, Maria offers all clients a full Face Mapping Skin Analysis to determine their skin type and address any problems. Facials and treatments are then personalised to each individual client. Other treatments offered include Jessica Manicure, Pedicures and GELeration, long lasting nails and waxing.

Having a teenage daughter herself, Maria feels it is important to educate young adults on the benefits of looking after their skin. She has recently delivered a talk to pupils at Steyning Grammer School about the importance of skincare which was enthusiastically received.

After travelling the world with her previous job, Tanya is now enjoying working in the Steyning community, on a one-to-one basis with her clients and said ‘Today everyone’s lives are busier than ever, from rushing around after the family to stressful commutes and sporting challenges, our bodies are constantly being used and misused. Regular massage can help retain your equilibrium, alleviate pain and combat stress and anxiety’. Tailoring treatments specifically to her clients, Tanya works to help everyone feel their best and can focus on treating specific health issues.
