The festival on May 17 will follow the usual format of fantastic live music, bear, barbecue, superb raffle with bouncy castles and activities for the children.

There will be eight bands performing again this year with the first band on stage at 2pm. There promises to be something for everyone throughout the day.

Voodoo Sheiks, who play a rich cocktail of wailing, swingin’ blues mixed with primal rock and roll will kick things off followed by the eight piece band Pier Pressure where rocksteady and ska are mixed with a little soul. Soul Sisters then take the stage and will bring the crowds songs of ‘love and loss’ from the great Motown era of Soul Music and then Sticky Bun will entertain the crowds.

Organiser Ray Merridew said: “By their own admission not spring chickens, but they know a tune or two. They’re possibly the oldest rockers in town.

“After a fabulous raffle with some special prizes, music will begin again with a very special act - The Guildford Bucket Drummers. Something you’ve probably never seen before. We’ll leave it at that - make sure you are there.”

After them, Brighton band Half Hour Hotel, an English Indie rock band will take the spotlight. Ray said they were ‘a band to watch’ following the release of their debut single ‘Run from Sirens’ last year.

He added: “Spellbinder will then blow you away with influences ranging from Deep Purple to Journey – soaring keyboards, awesome guitar and big vocals.

“Then finally, last but certainly not least, Iron Tyger will deliver classic 80s rock with passion and dedication. The band’s charismatic take on the fun and excitement of 80s rock, combined with a catalogue of iconic tunes has prompted sparkling responses from audiences across the UK. Do not miss them.”
