Musical entertainment for serious cause

A ROCKING evening is promised, though the entertainment will be born from personal tragedy.

Ian Funnell, who suffers from motor neurone disease, is putting on a night of live music, at The General Henry’s, Horsham Road, Littlehampton, to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

MND ROCKS, on August 25, will feature performances from The Rocket Dolls, Fear No Fish, Trogg and Miss Jager, and will follow on from a similar event, held at the Worthing Assembly Hall in 2009.

He said: “After the last MND ROCKS, which was a huge success, I’ve decided to start again, but on a much smaller scale. My disease has progressed and won’t allow me to do anything on a huge scale. I’m much weaker now and I get tired very quickly.”

He said it was thanks to the support he had received from the MNDA that he was able to live a “fairly normal life”

“I am doing MND ROCKS again, to raise money and awareness for the MNDA, so that they can help people like myself,” he said.

Tickets to the event are £3 in advance, or £5 on the door, which opens at 7pm. To book, call Ian on 07988765087 or pop into The General Henry
