Musical event for World AIDS Day

To mark World AIDS Day, a special performance of Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens, a musical by Bill Russell and Janet Hood will take place on December 1 at The Venue, within Bexhill High School.

The event will star X-Factor vocal sensation Jayson Newland, and will also feature a plethora of West End performers, including Zoe Doano (Les Miserables, Grease, High Society, The Sound of Music), Dean Read (We Will Rock You, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) and Queen of Speed, Miss Millie Quick, supported by a choir of over 100, including members of Bexhill High Theatre Company and Rother Community Choir.

Inspired by the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, this song cycle is a patchwork of monologues and musical numbers written from the perspective of characters who have died from illnesses as a result of AIDS.
