Nashville musician on her way to Bexhill

Nashville singer-songwriter Gretchen Peters comes to the De La Warr Pavilion with her Blackbirds album tour on Thursday February 11.

Blackbirds features a Who’s Who of modern American roots music - Jerry Douglas, Jason Isbell, Jimmy LaFave, Will Kimbrough, Kim Richey - but it’s not the guests that make this the most poignant and moving album of her career, it’s the impeccable craftsmanship and sincerity. Gretchen said of her visit: “I’m so excited to be bringing a band with me this time – something I’ve never done before on a UK tour. The lineup for the Blackbirds tour is: Barry Walsh – piano, accordion and vocals; Christine Bougie – lap steel, electric guitar and drums; and newest addition Conor McCreanor on bass. I’m really looking forward to hearing these great musicians flesh out the arrangements on new songs and old ones.”
