AN excellent number of members attended the January meeting despite the wintry weather, creating a good atmosphere to welcome speaker Mr R. Jones from the Ashburnham Estate.

He gave a very interesting talk on the history of the house and gardens accompanied by beautiful photographs.

It was good to meet up again with friends and colleagues at the New Year meal held at the Wheatsheaf Restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious meal - many thanks go to the staff there.

The guest speaker for February 16 meeting will be Christine Hayward talking about the Pelham family. Tea and biscuits will be served and an excellent raffle will be held.
